Dear Clients, Families, and Supporters,
We would like to share a few updates from Conductive Education Southern and thank you for your ongoing support.
Please take a minute to complete our yearly survey. This is very important to us as it helps us to provide the best service possible.

Recruitment Update
We are continuing the process of recruiting a new conductor. This has been slower than anticipated due to the requirements and processes set by Immigration New Zealand. However, we are making steady progress. We have now gained accreditation, are actively advertising the role, and have engaged an immigration employment specialist to assist us through this process. We appreciate your patience as we work to secure the right person for our centre.
Individual Conductive Plan Reviews – June
In June, Judit and I will be undertaking Individual Conductive Plan reviews for all clients who have been attending for more than six months.
These reviews will take place during a normal session time and will be treated as a Conductive Education session.
Individual Conductive Plan reviews are an important and essential part of our programme, ensuring that each client has an up-to-date, relevant, and collaborative plan. We ask that parents, caregivers, support staff, and clients themselves please make every effort to attend and contribute to these discussions. Your input is essential in shaping meaningful and effective goals.
Thank You for Your Support
We would like to sincerely thank you for your patience and continued support as we transition to a new conductor. Your understanding during this period is greatly appreciated and helps us maintain the quality of our service.
Fundraising Opportunities
We are always looking for ways to keep our session costs as accessible as possible. If you have any ideas for fundraising or would like to get involved, we would love to hear from you.
Other centres in New Zealand participate in events such as the Wheelathon:

If there is interest from our community, we would be happy to explore organising something similar locally.
Our website
We encourage you to visit our website at cesouthern.org for general information about our services and updates.
We are also interested in making the website as helpful as possible for our community. If there is information you would like to see included, resources you think would be useful, or improvements we could make, please let us know. Your feedback will help us ensure the website meets the needs of our clients, families, and wider community.
Session Attendance Reminder
A gentle reminder that sessions will still be charged if a client does not attend and we have not been notified in advance of a cancellation. Please let us know as early as possible if you are unable to attend a session.
Recent Updates
Vicky and I recently attended the NZFCE National Hui. It was valuable to spend time with others involved in conductive education, share experiences, and strengthen connections across centres.
Thank you again for being part of our community.
Kind regards,
Suzzy Thomas
