Wheelie Awesome Wheel‑a‑thon – August 2026

‍ ‍

August is Conductive Education Awareness Month, and CE Southern will be taking part in the Wheelie Awesome Wheel‑a‑thon. This national event helps raise awareness and funds to support Conductive Education services across Aotearoa.

‍ ‍

How to Join the Fundraiser

‍ ‍

Step 4: Share your link Send it to friends, whānau, workplaces, and social media. All donors automatically receive a tax receipt.

‍ ‍

Choose Your Challenge

‍ ‍

Pick something simple that fits your routine. Examples include:

‍ ‍

  • Daily pram walks

  • Family bike or scooter rides

  • Wheelchair push or walking frame step goals

  • Learn‑to‑ride‑a‑bike month

  • Spin‑class goals for parents

  • A one‑day wheels event with friends, school, or Early childhood centres.

‍ ‍

Families can raise funds by:

‍ ‍

  • Sharing their Raisely page

  • Asking for sponsorship (set amounts or per‑km goals)

  • Running a small wheels‑themed activity (decorate‑your‑bike day, neighbourhood ride)

  • Asking workplaces or local businesses to support.

‍ ‍

You are welcome to involve friends, whānau, workplaces, clubs, or community groups. Ideas include:

‍ ‍

  • Setting up a static machine (exercise bike, rowing machine, treadmill) at your workplace, gym, or home

  • Hosting a small wheels‑based challenge for colleagues or classmates

‍ ‍

If you have ideas, questions or suggestions, please contact me.

‍ ‍

I will be on leave attending the BMX World Championships in Brisbane from Tuesday, 14 July to Tuesday, 28 July. There will be no CE sessions during this time. If you need to contact me during this time, please email manager@cesouthland.org.nz
